We have so many people who want to get to know you, so we want to share more about a few different groups of people helping you to get comfortable on campus.
First, there will be the Hall Staff Team (7) (the Rector, Asst. Rectors and Resident Assistants). They will be on the floors, answering questions, making you feel comfortable and hopefully anticipating as many needs as possible.
Then, we have the St. Andre Welcome Team (14) leading programming, unloading cars, and helping to welcome you throughout the weekend and, honestly, the whole first year.
Last, but not least, we have our "Lift, Loft, Love" Crew! These folks help you on Friday morning to unload items in your room, share the best way to arrange your furniture and help to loft or bunk (or deloft/debunk) your beds. They are our extra muscles, because our one elevator is small and time is limited!
Welcome weekend 2023:
The Welcome Week team has been working hard on an amazing schedule of activities that are both informational and fun for your weekend! We'll welcome you to the hall with plenty of time for Q&A and also introduce you to beloved dorm traditions and fun ways to get to know your fellow Walshies!
Check out the following links to be sure to get the latest information!
Maybe you know friends or siblings who, in the past, received a paper "First Year Booklet" snail mailed to them from their Notre Dame Residence Hall with all the essential items they needed to know about their hall in it. That's lovely. Walsh had one of those as well. But in the interest of sustainable practices (save the trees!), we have gone digital! The Walsh Booklet has transitioned to this website. Most of the former booklet information is under the First Year tab and the rest of the information is organized throughout the site under appropriate tabs. We thought that streamlining the information to one source would be better in an already busy summer.
mailing and packages
UPS and FedEx deliver packages directly to your door. USPS (regular mail) and other carriers will deliver it to the central mailing facility, which will then be delivered to each hall's mail room. You will get an email from a Walsh mail clerk student worker whenever you receive a package, so you'll go to retrieve it during the designated package hour every day (TBD for 2021). You can find letters and smaller items in your mailbox by the Main Circle doors.
DO NOT mail packages to your room over the summer. The hall is usually used by other groups for various camps and conferences. The earliest you can have packages arrive is Tuesday, August 16. For addressing purposes, the United States Postal Service (USPS) requires you to use the following format:
